Nilo Cruz' play, commissioned by the New Theatre in Coral Gables, has been awarded the Pulitzer Prize in drama. It is the first play since The Kentucky Cycle in 1992 to win without having a New York run. McCarter Theater in Princeton holds the New York rights to the play. Mr. Cruz, who lives in New York and teaches at Yale, is the first Latino-American to win this prize. When reached en route to New York from New Haven, he said, "Viva el teatro!"
Christine Dolen, for The Miami Herald
"In Princeton's new theater, quite a prize"
